RIT's Cary Graphics Art Press released its first commercial publication, Digital Book Design and Publishing, in 2001 and has since published over 40 books under the Cary Press Imprint. With
the opening of the Alexander S. Lawson Publishing Center in May of
2007, RIT's Cary Graphics Arts Press expanded to include a second
imprint, RIT Press, to be used on all titles that are non-graphic arts
related. The opening of the Lawson Center established RIT Libraries as the home of RIT's University Press.
The Publishing and Scholarship
Support Center (PSSC) provides assistance in the publishing process,
offering help with editing practices, copyright and plagiarism,
citation management, and thesis and dissertation publishing services.
Faculty members who want to highlight
their publications can enter their citations in RIT Pub Central or
preserve their research by posting it to the campus-wide digital
repository, RIT's Digital Media Library.
OpenBook@RIT offers the entire RIT community the opportunity to promote their self-published materials.
