If RIT Libraries doesn't have what you need, most likely we can get it for you thanks to a cooperative effort among libraries to share resources called interlibrary loan. In many cases, materials will be delivered to you electronically.
Current RIT students, faculty, emeritus and staff can easily submit an online request to borrow books, journal articles and other items not available in the RIT Library collection using the IDS Express Service. This service allows you to place a request, ask for a renewal of an interlibrary loan, view web delivered articles and track your requests. A valid RIT username and password is required to request items via IDS Express. There is no charge for this service to RIT faculty, staff and students.
Off-campus RIT Online Learners: IDS Express is the way to request library materials and have them sent to you via FedEx. This includes delivery of books, journal articles and other items owned by RIT Library as well as delivery of materials we obtain from other libraries on your behalf. There is no charge for this service.
For more information or questions on IDS Express, contact the IDS department by phone at 585-475-2560 or by e-mail at illwml@rit.edu.
